Asasal Island — known locally as Pulau Asasal — is a pristine hidden gem nestled in the Banggai Archipelago, Banggai Laut Regency, Central Sulawesi. Untouched, raw, and breathtaking, it is one of Indonesia's last truly undiscovered island paradises.

Getting to Asasal
Board a direct or connecting flight to Syukuran Aminuddin Amir Airport (LUW), Luwuk, Banggai. Daily connections from Makassar (UPG) or Jakarta (CGK).
From Luwuk, take a speedboat or ferry to Banggai Island. The crossing takes approximately 2–3 hours with stunning archipelago scenery.
From Banggai town, local boat takes you to Asasal Island — a 30–45 min transfer through crystal-clear waters.
Arrive to a warm welcome and fresh coconuts. No cars. No crowds. Just Asasal.
When to Visit
April to October brings excellent visibility (20–40m), calm seas, and the best encounters with manta rays, barracuda, and whale sharks.
May through September is ideal for island hopping, kayaking, and spending long days on pristine white sand beaches.
December through February sees heavier rainfall. Asasal remains beautiful, but expect rougher seas and reduced dive visibility.
